Metallic mirrors

Mirror surfaces based on metals (e.g. Al. Ag or Au) are cost-effective ways of manufacturing reflectors.

Metallic mirrors display a constant degree of reflection over a very broad range of wave lengths because of the low resilience of the metallic layers, they are protected with dielectric layers and their reflection is also increased if required.
