asphericon joins the ranks of Thuringia's market and technology leaders as a "hidden champion".
The "Stark am Markt" ("Strong in the market") initiative of the Thuringian economics ministry and the State Development Corporation of Thuringia (LEG Thüringen) has identified asphericon GmbH as a market and growth leader in the field of precision aspherical optical components. According to LEG's managing director Andreas Krey, "the decisive key attributes which prompted the decision were asphericon's strong market presence and export share." Reinforcing this are criteria such as the proportion of new product developments, high levels of expenditure on research and development and continuing training measures to meet the company's ongoing need for highly qualified specialist staff.
"To be included in the "Stark am Markt" initiative is a real fillip on our highly successful path of developing, manufacturing and marketing high quality aspherical components," stresses asphericon’s financial director Alexander W Zschäbitz. "In the future we'll continue to make significant investments in research and development as well as maintaining the levels of specialist staff at our facility in Jena. In doing so we intend to fulfill our commercial and social obligations to the high technology location of Jena in the heart of the state of Thuringia."
