asphericon finalizes an extensive investment program to support quality and innovation.
Just in time for the start of the new year, asphericon GmbH has succeeded in finalizing a six-figure investment project. The project's main focal point consisted, essentially, in purchasing various high-quality measuring instruments.
"With the new equipment, the path we have taken towards ongoing process optimization and improvement in quality is gaining significant support. The instruments purchased recently also allow us to analyze the most varied surface shapes in considerably greater detail", Technical Manger Sven R. Kiontke explains. "In a phase of economic uncertainty, we're sending out with this large investment a clear sign of even greater commitment to customer orientation and satisfaction and of technological growth."
Among other things the investment program includes the immediate commissioning of a Zygo VeriFire™ based on a six-inch interferometer for the measurement of aspherical lenses with rotational symmetry. A large proportion of the aspherical lenses made by asphericon can thus now be measured without using computer-generated holograms (so-called CGHs).
In addition, a MarSurf LD 120 Aspheric complements the two tactile measurement systems already in place and will make it possible to carry out highly precise tactile measurement of aspherical surfaces with diameters of up to 120 mm.
Moreover, we are incorporating into our portfolio various systems for contactless measurement of center thickness, for centering measurement with accuracies in the µm range, and a system for confocal, three-dimensional defect characterization with a resolution in the nm range.
